The one about being 30+5

  1. No matter what happens in life, things will work out in the end. They always have, they always will.
  2. When the world is going crazy around you, figure out what is controllable and what isn’t. This will save you countless hours of worry and anxiety.
  3. Once you’ve figured out what is controllable, control the controllables and forget about everything else.
  4. Turns out that alcohol isn’t needed to have fun. Who knew!
  5. Having patience is that extra breath of air before acting or saying something that you may regret.
  6. When something appears in your life on three different occasions, it is a sign that you should probably pursue it.
  7. Spend twice as long asking than answering questions. Tremendous insights will appear (and it’s also much less work).
  8. Making good pho starts with good beef bones.
  9. Toss out the notes, speak from the heart. While it isn’t as polished, it is 10x more effective and influential.
  10. For #9, prep work is always needed in advance. But when it’s game time, go with your gut.
  11. When confronted with a problem, start with acknowledging where you are. And then think about the next easiest step.
  12. Focus on the 10s in your life. You’d be surprised how much more energy you have in your day-to-day life.
  13. The transition from “work to play” is an important one. Take at least 5 mins to transition over.
  14. When something isn’t working out, have the courage to cut things off.
  15. Fear. It is neither negative nor positive. It is neutral. Learn how to use it.
  16. At the end of the day, ask “does this really matter?”.
